Sorry but I don’t want to write in more forums especially not for money. I reinstalled the Office and switched off the automatic upgrade. It solved the problem. I have this registry key and the ‘run a script’ option is available, but the script does not run. I, too, had a brand new winbit ver running MS Dynamics with VBA customizations that launched Outlook working very nicely. Suggested I uninstall Outlook and reinstall to see if that fixed the error and if that didn’t work, then uninstall the MSDSL client and reinstall and see if that fixed it.
Needless to say, I tried all those steps before calling them, so had to walk away. I also tried installing Office to see if that affected the code from launching, still didn’t launch on the same machine. All other machines in our office are working flawlessly.

Yes, they are checked to run automatically, too. BUT, many emails will get automatically returned to the junk folder after 30 seconds or so. Could this aggressive junking be trumping the rules? Or rather, maybe the rules are being applied appropriately when the mail arrives, but then they get junked soon afterwards. I have my inbox set to exclusive mode, so only emails from contacts can be delivered to the inbox; the rest go to the junk folder.
That should only happen when a message is initially received. I’ve even added their domains to my safe senders list and those STILL get sent to the junk pile instead. I have exact same problem. I had the same problem. In my situation rules just stopped working over night with no apparent reason.
To fix this I had to delete all rules that were created in Outlook but were not supported by the server. They had the text just besides the rule name “only in client”. After deleting all the unsupported rules it started working again. Currently my rules weight 69kB in Outlook and O Strangest part is why. My rules stopped working so I followed some of the advice around the web including exporting the rules, running cleanrules, then importing the rules. I had read somewhere many Office versions ago that over 32K of rules would clobber them and they would stop running. I tested by deleting a few rules, and checked the export.
It was down to 30K and at that point, the rules automatically started running as expected. I don’t know how to make my rules smaller.
